Well, this long weekend and short week has sure been full of events.
Friday night we flew up to NJ, and that was interesting to say the least. We were delayed for two hours, the plane was hot and I couldn't fit in the seat without, literally, climbing over the arm rest. We arrived around 1 AM (I think), and we were ecstatic to see Jon's sister, Rachel! What a great sister - she didn't even complain about having to wait at the Newark Airport (and falling asleep in the Newark airport) for us! After sleeping for about two hours we got up and drove to NH for a wedding and to surprise Jon's parents, Diane and David. What a great surprise it was! We thought that they had caught on to us because several times while talking to them we slipped, but it was great that they had no idea! After the wedding on Saturday, we drove back to NJ on Sunday and got the opportunity to spend some time with some friends and hang out with the family on Monday. Tuesday morning we got up bright and early (4:30 AM... that's 3:30 AM CST) to catch our flight back to Nashville and go straight to work. We had a great weekend, and it was a great visit, but it was definitely a lot in a very short amount of time and very difficult for this pregnant girl!
So remember at the beginning of my pregnancy, and even towards the middle (and up until about 4 weeks ago) how I was complaining that I don't look pregnant? Well, it's true what they say - be careful for what you wish for! I'm huge! She's dropped a bit so it's not hard to breath anymore, but now I can't even put socks on. It makes getting ready for work extremely difficult! Jon laughs at me when I try to get off the couch or out of bed - he says that I look like a roly poly. Feel free to give him crap for it!
Yesterday was a tough day. I woke up not feeling well. There was nothing that I could pin point though. I just felt like I was in a haze, my head hurt, my face, hands and feet were swelling, and I wasn't feeling Isabelle move near as much as I had in the past. I called the doctor's office and spoke to the nurse who told me to go to my hospital to be monitored. Mom took me to the hospital and Jon met us there. My blood pressure was high at first, but it went down as I laid there. Belle's heartbeat was strong, and they gave me a Popsicle to get her to move around. We could hear her moving on the monitor, but I still wasn't feeling her. The nurse said that it was probably just the way that she is positioned and that I shouldn't worry. The nurse also said that I was cramping. They did an exam to make sure that everything was good - it was. I'm not sure how they know that stuff, but as long as everything is ok, I'm ok. I'm ready for Belle to get here, but I can wait another few weeks. I only have 2 1/2 weeks until she's considered full term. She can come whenever she wants to after that. Most everyone thinks that she's going to come early. The nurse even gave me a look when I told her that I am only 34 weeks along. I go to the doctor a week from today so I will be interested to see what I'm measuring at and if they decide to do another ultrasound. I hope that they do so that we can see her again. She'll be so much bigger this time because she's grown a lot in the last 14-15 weeks.
Well, that's all for now. I will keep everyone updated as to what the doctor says on Thursday. Hopefully everything will be quiet until then!
