32 weeks

Today Belle, Jon and I went to our 32 week appointment.  The doctor says that everything looks great!  I gained a little more weight than I would have liked to see this week, but the doctor says that I'm still within a healthy range.  I will need to watch it though - I'm only supposed to gain 1-2 pounds a week and this week it was 6 lbs.  My blood pressure was a little high last time, however, this time it was back to normal so everything with mom looks great!.

Belle is doing well.  She has been poking her limbs up in between my ribs a lot.  It's uncomfortable, but I don't mind because when she's moving about I know that she's ok.   She's still very high.  They got her heartbeat, which was at 140 this week, about halfway down my abdomen.  I'm measuring at 35 cm which is a little bigger than what I should be measuring.  The tech said the words "big baby".  Since she's still inside me, and she has to get out somehow, big is not something I'm too keen on hearing.  The doctor didn't seem too worried though.  She said that as I progress, if I keep measuring big, they'll do another ultrasound to find out why.  I read that there are some reasons why a person measures big - the due date is off, baby is breech, or gestational diabetes.  I'm ok with it if the due date is off, haha.  I am already ready to meet her, and I'm ready to be able to paint my toe nails again, put socks and shoes on, bend over in general and not have to roll out of bed.  More than anything though, I'm ready meet her.  We've already been tested for gestational diabetes, and I joke about a caesarean delivery being my preferred method, but it's just a joke.

On another note, yesterday we got a recliner for the nursery.  Jon has been wanting one since we got our living room furniture so now he has one.  Yes, it will be in the nursery for a while, but we got it to match the living room furniture so we can move it into the living room once it's time.  We were going to get a glider for the nursery, but unfortunately I haven't been sleeping well and seem to sleep best sitting up so we got a recliner for the nights that I can't sleep in the bed.

Well, we have another appointment on June 8.  We'll have another visit two weeks after that then we'll start weekly visits.  It's all fast approaching, and we are getting really excited!  Hopefully we'll get to meet her in the week that she is due.  The doctor said that she would try to get us in as close to our due date as possible, but that she would like to see how I naturally progress and won't let me go past 42 weeks.  Let's hope that I'm one of those first time moms that is not two weeks past her due date.  I don't know that I will be able to wait that long!
