Doctor's Appointment

Yesterday I went to the doctor for my weekly check up and the day did not turn out the way I would have thought.  I had every intention of going to the doctor then going to work, however, I ended up going to the doctor then to the hospital.  My blood pressure was high, 160/106, so my doctor wanted me to go be monitored.  She gave me three scenarios as to what could happen when I got there: 1.  Everything would be fine, and I would go home.  2.  Baby could be in distress so they would deliver or 3. Baby is not in distress so they would just keep me to monitor.  Fortunately, we went with curtain number 1!  I spent a few hours in the hospital and went home, but I have to go back and see the doctor on Friday.  Mom thinks that they think all of this is the beginning stages of labor.  Belle has definitely dropped some, and the nurse made the comment that she would probably see us again sooner rather than later as we were leaving.  While at the doctor, she did an exam and commented, yet again, how big the baby is. By the way, I was informed by my wonderful, number friendly husband that I lied in my last blog.  The ultrasound tech had said that Belle is measuring around 8 lbs (7 lbs 11 oz) so if they are off 1/2 a pound to a pound off, she's 7-7.5 lbs already.  It was kind of funny because I told the nurse at the hospital that everyone says that she's a big baby, and she was trying to make me feel better by saying, "well, you're a petite girl so she sticks out further because she has no where to go."  My mom and I laughed and told her that the ultrasound says she's almost 8 lbs.  Her eyes got really big and she was like, "Well, they could be off by a lb either way."  Awesome, exactly what I want to hear!  Haha!

All of that being said, and given that we could have a baby girl pretty soon, we went and got the remaining stuff that we need to be prepared for her.  I have no doubt that we are now prepared!  I'm sure that there are some things that we'll find out that we need, but we got the basics.  We have been blessed with wonderful friends, family and co-workers so we didn't have to get too much.  A big thank you to everyone who has helped us prepare for our addition.  The baby shower on Sunday was fantastic, and I am so appreciative to everyone who came!

Well, until Friday....
