Today marks mine and Belle's 27th week, only 13 to go, and at the end of this week, we'll officially be on the home stretch. I read today that she's the size of an eggplant - that's 14 1/2 inches long and about 2 pounds. She's moving a lot these days. Luckily it seems as though she's awake when I'm awake more and more which is good. She's still very, very low. I can feel hurt when I bend over and even sometimes when I sit. Feeling her move around and kick always makes me smile though. Even on my worst days, she moves and it turns my mood around. I try and share my joy of being able to feel her move with Jon as much as I can because, although weird, it makes him smile too. I read in an article yesterday that if Jon were to put his ear on my belly, he may be able to hear her heartbeat. Yeah, that didn't happen. He could only hear the gurgle of my stomach.
It's nerve racking, yet exciting, to start preparing for her. As much as I thought that I wanted a boy, I'm loving getting the nursery together and looking at cute little girl clothes (which, might I add, I have not bought one stitch of!). She officially has two outfits - my Nana got her a cute little pink onesie outfit thingy and Uncle Max brought her a cute little gift set of Twins stuff in pink. Even though she's going to be a Braves fan, we'll let her wear it.
The nursery is coming along too. We put the first coat of paint on yesterday, we'll put the second coat on tonight, and I'll do the stripes either tomorrow or Sunday. The base coat isn't exactly the color that I wanted - it's a bit darker, but it will do. I will post pictures once eveything starts to get completely underway.
