Sleepless Nights....

Well, last night was my first of, I'm sure, many sleepless nights.  On the plus side, I can worry less about my little Belle because she was definitely active last night.  I think that she's awake while I'm sleeping and that's why I haven't felt her move while I'm awake!  She's a night owl - definitely a trait she gets from me and not her dad!

I woke up the first time around 1:30 in the morning, second time around 3:30 and stayed awake for about an hour, the third time was 5:00, and then Jon gets up at 6:45.  Maybe I'm being trained for those newborn, every four hour feedings, but I would really, really like to sleep now while I can.  Part of the problem is that I have to sleep on my sides, and because of my bad back (from an injury in college and just all those years being a catcher), it hurts to sleep on my side.  I used to pop my back and all would be well, but I can no longer turn far enough to get it to pop so it might be a very long 17 weeks for me and my back.  I'm going to start doing some of the ball exercises that I did in college to rehab my back and make sure that I'm stretching my hamstrings and hip flexer muscles.  We'll see if that helps.  I've gotten some tips from mommies that I'm going to try too so hopefully I won't be sitting up trying to sleep for the next 4 months.

Four months - that's not very much time.  I can't believe that we will be parents in four months!  That's crazy to think about.  The last five months have gone by so fast.  Actually, this whole past year has gone by so fast!  Just a year ago I was living here in Tennessee and Jon was still in Florida.  Now, we own a house and are having a baby!  It's all exciting but happening very fast.  I just hope that things start to slow down soon so we can enjoy it all.
